Oil Reclamation

Transformer Oil Reclamation

When a laboratory analysis of your transformer's oil indicates the presence of acids, sludges or other products of degradation, DYMAX can easily restore its properties to like-new condition. Our transformer oil reclamation rig will heat the oil and exchange it through our highly efficient filtering systems for a prescribed number of passes. An on-board laboratory immediately verifies the results of the vacuum and filtering procedure. As multiple passes are applied, the increased temperature of the fluid causes it to act as a cleansing agent on the internal components of the transformer. Upon completion of the required circulation, an oxidation inhibitor is added to the unit to retard continued oil degradation.

Transformer Oil Degasification

Overheating of the oil or working components in your electrical equipment can create dangerous levels of dissolved combustible gases. DYMAX'S process rigs have high-output furnaces and vacuum pumps to remove these gases. As an added value, our technicians are trained to provide internal inspections as well as full electrical tests to help determine the sources of the gassing.

Transformer Oil Dehydration

When high levels of moisture are found, either in the transformer's oil or its insulation, it must be removed to prevent premature failure of the unit. Multiple circulation passes through one of our hot-oil processing rigs will heat the internal components of the unit and drive any moisture that is retained in them out into the oil. The oil is returned to the processor's heating and vacuuming systems to remove this moisture before returning it to the transformer. An in-line hygrometer constantly monitors the moisture levels incoming and outgoing the processor while our on-site laboratory determines when the procedure has been completed.
