Transformer Repairs

Costly transformer failures can interrupt your daily operations. To prevent unscheduled outages or transformer failure, it's vital to inspect your transformers frequently and make even small repairs, such as minor fluid leaks.

DYMAX responds to calls when transformers leak fluid, overheat or fail to perform correctly in some other mode. We can complete several types of repairs at your site, including leaking gaskets, leaking bushings or bushing relocation, retrofills, and transformer load tap changer (LTC) repair or upgrades. More extensive problems such as winding failure require in-shop repairs. DYMAX maintains a large inventory of parts for fast repair.

Transformer load tap changer (LTC) inspection and repair services

LTCs account for 25% of all transformer failures. In substations, the single largest maintenance item relates to problems with LTCs.

DYMAX's highly skilled crews are experienced with all types of LTCs, for which we offer a complete program from inspection to repair. DYMAX service trucks are equipped with an extensive inventory of fasteners, fluid filtration pumping systems and oil totes to contain fluids. Should you need extensive repair or rebuilds, in many cases DYMAX can turn around parts within 24 hours, allowing for same-day repair during an outage.

We perform inspection checks on remaining contact life, positioning stops, test limit switch operation, mechanical stops and limits, and signs of arcing.
